Groothuis Ligtermoet & Nijhuis Bailiffs and Collections has been a leading collection and bailiff agency in the eastern part of the Netherlands for many years. For more than 60 years, we have specialised in the recovery of outstanding claims for businesses and private individuals throughout the Netherlands. We offer tailor-made services during the extrajudicial phase. The basic principle is always that the debtor must pay the collection fee. Over many years, we have proven to be a reliable partner in the field of debt collection and debtor management, both regionally and nationwide.
The Dutch bailiff is an unsalaried public official appointed by the Crown (the government). The bailiff is also an entrepreneur who must ensure the financial health of his legal practice. The tasks of bailiffs are defined in the Bailiffs Act. Through their work, bailiffs play an important role in the functioning of the rule of law. The duties associated with the bailiff’s office are also referred to as “official duties”.

The fees for official acts are set by the Ministry of Justice.
In addition to these government-regulated fees for official acts, the Dutch bailiff may charge his own fees, such as an hourly rate for legal advice and services or a commission for successfully collected claims.
As you can see, part of the costs is based on government-regulated fees, and another part on the fees and guidelines of our office.
All service and enforcement costs will be charged to the debtor. However, if the debtor is insolvent and we are unable to collect your claim, we must close the file unsuccessfully. In that case, we will not charge any collection commission, but we must charge you the enforcement costs, plus a flat administrative fee of €75.00.
For the enforcement of a European Enforcement Order, a European Payment Order, or any other international title, an advance payment of €500.00 is required. As soon as we receive the advance, we will proceed with service and enforcement.
If only the official service of extrajudicial or judicial documents is required, an advance payment of €125.00 is sufficient.

Members of the KBvG are required to adhere to the applicable professional and conduct rules, as well as the financial guidelines of the organization.
